Malá Morava

They call me Cinderella, and I am the last place in the mountain landscape where a human building stood. I am hidden deep among my faithful companions... they are the wild and deep woods, the grassy borders that smell in the summer months of nettle, wormwood and resin. Slender and tall spruces protecting the rosehip bushes with their embrace, and in summer sweet raspberries, blackberries, blueberries... just the thing that makes your tongue so purple all day long... with delicate leaves bent under the spruce seedling eagerly awaiting every ray of sunlight.

I am also a landscape steeped in history and mystery. In a nearby neighbourhood, at the very top of the Mother of God Mountain, above thousands of steps, I bow with humility before the pilgrimage site, the Hedeč Monastery. Like a torn pearl necklace, the spears have settled on the crest of my mountain, a memory of wartime fortifications, now hidden behind moss and ferns. And it's a good thing they're home to white and slender birch trees rather than soldiers. The silver waterfalls of the Little Morava River are a stone's throw away, and they are so much more beautiful. Into its wild bed flows a spring rising almost under my doorstep.

The place where you will find me, though now hidden in a private forest sanctuary, was not long ago a place of sunshine, a place with a view of the slopes on the other side of the valley, a place of farming, a place with orchards, stone walls, a bustling life. Pity about the view, it was breathtaking.

I'd be happy to accompany you on endless walks through my land, and when fatigue seduces you into the mossy arms of the shade of the rowan trees, you'll close your eyes and dream, and I'll tickle you with a clump of dandelion on the tip of your nose until you burst out laughing.

I'll be your faithful companion in a black coat, your Cinderella.

Reservation conditions

Although Popelka is capable of accommodating up to four lodgers, she is primarily intended for lovers. However, she’ll be more than happy to accommodate a family with three children if they decide to come.

Popelka would like her guests to spend at least two nights with her. Shorter bookings are not possible.

It’s a bit of an annoyance, but we also need your consent to the General Terms and Conditions of hideandseek. They also include the Code of Ethics and Safety and Technical Rules (Technical Manual).

How to make a reservation

Click to select the day of arrival and the day of departure in our calendar. Fill in a few necessary details and that's it. Please be aware that at least 2 nights must be reserved.

Prices and payment

Popelka costs CZK 4,014 per night from Monday to Friday. The CZK 14 is the price of an oak seedling, which will be planted during your stay at Popelka in a place where the pine trees, which cannot get enough moisture from the soil for their lives, are withering. The price for weekends is a thousand crowns and one oak seedling per night higher. So CZK 5,028. The prices include 10% VAT.

In order for your reservation to be deemed confirmed, the payment made by wire transfer must be credited to our bank account no later than three working days after the reservation is made.

Cancellation?

We deeply appreciate your time and know how difficult it is to plan days, weeks and months in advance. Work commitments, illness or just the desire to pursue spontaneous ideas with family, friends, people you love often change your long-term plans at the last minute. We understand this because we are like that ourselves. At the same time, we don't want your paid stay at one of the hideandseek places to be a commitment from which you can't escape. After all, life should be filled with ease and freedom!

In cooperation with the insurance company RVE, we have prepared a cancellation insurance option for you so that you do not lose your funds just because circumstances change your plans at the last minute. We have set everything up so that it can be done "at the snap of a finger". You can do everything with a single click directly in our booking calendar. In case you decide not to use the offered insurance and after paying for the reservation you find out that you don't want to go to Cinderella anymore, we won't send you the payment back, but you can be happy that it will cover the stay for someone who couldn't afford it (single mother, student, ...).

What you don’t need to bring to Popelka

Popelka has basic equipment and ingredients for your gastronomic pleasure, such as Nepalese salt, cane sugar, Arabic coffee, Sicilian virgin olive oil and Oolong Japanese green tea. The kitchen has a pan, pot, a mocha teapot, a french press coffee maker, a teapot, cups, mugs, wine glasses, sharp knives and butter knives, plates, bowls, a wine opener, a potato peeler, a pasta or salad strainer. Organic cosmetics await you in the bathroom. There is a hot tube, a barbecue grill and a hammock in front of Popelka.

In the fridge you will find wines from Nepraš, Pilsner Urquell beer and olives.

What else is good to know…

In addition to Aranka with a heated sauna, a fire in the fireplace, fluffy comforters and chilled wine, the caretaker Jitka is also waiting for you. He will tell you everything about Popelka, what she likes, what she doesn't like, but also where you can go for a romantic dinner, from where it’s best to watch the sunset, which spot is closest to the stars...

Please arrive at the meeting place on time so that Popelka and Jitka won’t be waiting long for you. Check-in is 3 pm, check-out until 11 am or you can arrange it with Jitka individually (‭‭+420 724 214 130‬‬).

Jitka and Vojta

Our first partners in hideandseek development! Words such as spirituality, lightness of being, empathy, relationship with the landscape and the people in it describe them best. At the same time, their guides in life are order, sport, music and responsibility. Jitka and Vojtěch love the landscape, life and work in it from the bottom of their hearts.

Jitka finds peace and energy when running through the quiet forest, when only the moss and pine needles muffle the flow of time. Perhaps that is why Jitka is a person who loves to laugh and spread joy around.

Vojta is almost a Renaissance man. The variety of his activities never ceases to surprise. A graduated programmer who decided to become a small farmer and grew garlic in his grandfather's field for several years. Vojta started out playing the violin, then went on to play the electric guitar. He defended his diploma thesis on aquaponics at a university in Holland. Only life can invent that...

Jitka and Vojta are your guides to Mala Morava and its surroundings, about which they know as much as few people.
